6 Ballygunge Place restaurant, the crown jewel of Savourites Hospitality Pvt Ltd is a class apart when it comes to fine dining. The journey started in 2003, at a time when the city did not boast a single stand-alone eatery serving exclusive Bengali cuisine. The gateway to the culinary delights of Bengal opened once 6 Ballygunge Place happened.
Housed in the bungalow of a former Rai Bahadur, steeped in an aura of tradition and heritage, 6 Ballygunge Place changed the gastronomic landscape of the city with its curated menu.
From the earliest Bengali cookbook of Pragya Sundari Devi to references from Vaishnav literature, all available resources were researched under the able guidance of Chef Sushanta Sengupta which then found its way to our elaborate spread. The rest as they say is history.
The sheen of our fine crockery and cutlery, the best in terms of ingredients, top of the line service staff in crisp designer uniforms and thorough professionalism ensured that 6 Ballygunge Place became a preferred destination for authentic Bengali cuisine.
Since 2003, the restaurant has won numerous awards and recognitions from esteemed organizations like Lonely Planet, National Geographic, American Express, The Telegraph and many more. Among the glitterati who have patronized the place are luminaries like Bret Lee, Rishi Kapoor, Asha Bhonsle, Sourav Ganguly, Nasiruddin Shah, Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu, Twinkle Khanna, Shaan and many others.
It is also the first retail outlet in India to register its address as a trademark. Come over, settle down and take in the aroma and feast on Bengal's finest recipes, served with an extra helping of care.
